Sierra Designs sleeping bags Sierra Designs might be best known for their camping tents, but their sleeping bags are just as good. Sierra Designs sleeping bags are known for its warmth, lightness, durability, and comfort. These are some of the best sleeping bags available. Sierra Designs constant research allows them to produce some of the best sleeping bags. Using technology like FLEX and fabrics like Cocona, they are able to create a comfortable sleeping bag. Sierra Designs recognized that sleeping bags aren't a one size fit all products, so they produce sleeping bags designed specifically for men, women, and the youth. They even produce special sleeping bags using the FLEX technology. Depending on which sleeping bag you purchase, the fill material will consist of Goose Down, PrimaLoft, and Climashield. PrimaLoft and Climashield are synthetic materials. PrimaLoft is an earth friendly insulation developed from recycled plastic soda and water bottles to create Eco spun fibers. PrimaLoft insulation is durable, weather resistance, lightweight, and soft to the touch. Climashield is a soft, highly resilient, continuous filament insulation made from reclaimed materials. Goose down is a natural renewable insulation that provides a higher "warmth to warmth" ration with a longer life span. Goose down is great for times when there is no chance of getting wet. Goose down loses its insulation qualities when wet and takes longer to dry. As mentioned earlier, Sierra Designs produces some sleeping bags using the FLEX technology. What exactly is the FLEX technology? A sleeping bag with the FLEX technology has less constriction allowing the sleeping bag to be more comfortable and the sleeping bag adapts to your shape to increase thermal efficiency. Elastic binding tape is used on all FLEX sleeping bags. Some of the more popular Sierra Designs sleeping bags are the Arrow Rock, Echo, Nitro, Trade Wind, and Wicked Light.
